flight nightmare / jetlag

Warning: annoying complaining will follow, but after all, this is LJ, what do you expect?

Well, I ended up running through Terminal 3 in Heathrow yesterday as I noticed on the board that it said, "Final call for New York" and saw that my gate was a 20 minute walk away. heh Good exercise though and there was a huge line meaning that I really had no rush to get there. *sigh*

Then we circled in the air a bit before landing in New York because of the thunderstorms. But, that only made us a half hour late (we landed at 22:08 instead of 21:30). Then American Airline kindly misplaced my luggage and said they would send it to me. Fun. When I went through customs and gave the customs officer my flight number, he was like, "Wow, that's late!" and then I said, "Yeah, I didn't even get my luggage either." He said, "Yep, that's American." Nice.

So, since I didn't have my luggage I decided to take the subway home at 1 am. Except I didn't realize it was 1 am at the time. Well, after waiting like 20 minutes in the grueling hot subway station, the E train finally came and then we heard the announcement "This train will be stopping at 71st/Continental, for those going to Manhattan, please take the J/Z trains downstairs." Nice. So, when we arrived at 71st/Continental with a bunch of people trying to get to their apartment in Queens. Bus chaos ensued. Then I found myself at the Roosevelt Ave station after taking a random bus and decided that I was too tired and took a Lincoln Towncar home (for non-New Yorkers, read "The Queens taxi service"). There I promptly crashed to sleep at 2 am.

Now, it is the following day and I woke up at 3 am. Man, jetlag sucks.
